Helping Homes Fund (HHF)

We meet the needs of Renters and Homeowners through Duke Energy’s HHF program. This is a free weatherization assistance program to help income-qualified Duke Energy North Carolina customers lower their energy bills, address energy-related health and safety issues, and improve the overall energy efficiency of their residences.

When Mejih learned about CAF from a resource fair at the Men’s Shelter, he was excited to work towards his goal of home ownership. Support from his case manager enabled him to get training, purchase a car, find work as a welder and move into his own apartment.

When Julie fell on hard times, CAF enrolled her in workforce readiness classes, then helped her find a culinary apprenticeship at Goodwill Industries. Julie’s ‘can do’ attitude resulted in a full-time position with Goodwill and a home of her own.
